Less Than 100 Days to Christmas: 3 Things Event Designers Are Thinking About This Month
Less than 100 days until Christmas.
It might still feel a little early to be talking about tinsel, fairy lights and festive installations, but for event designers, Christmas planning is already well underway.
This is the time of year when we start thinking beyond the traditional Christmas party and looking at how we can transform spaces, create memorable experiences and give brands something people actually want to engage with.
From restaurant installations and retail displays to corporate parties and festive brand activations, here are three things we’re thinking about this month.
1. How can we completely transform a space?
A restaurant can become an immersive festive experience, a shop window can become a reason to stop and look, a hotel entrance can make guests feel like they’ve stepped into another world.
We’re thinking about statement installations, oversized props, festive foliage, lighting, hanging details, Christmas trees and unexpected moments that work with the character of the space rather than simply adding decorations to it.
The best installations don’t just fill a room. They change how people experience it.
And importantly, they need to work in photographs too. Because these days, a great installation can become part of the content people create and share themselves.
2. How can brands turn Christmas into an experience?
For brands, Christmas is about far more than putting up a tree with a logo beside it.
A well-designed festive activation can give customers a reason to stop, interact and share.
That could be a striking pop-up, an immersive product display, a Christmas-themed photo moment or an installation designed specifically to encourage social content.
We’re always thinking about how design, branding and experience can work together so that an activation feels natural to the brand while still feeling exciting and unexpected.
The goal is to create something people remember, and ideally, something they want to photograph and talk about afterwards.
3. What will people actually remember?
Whether we’re styling a corporate Christmas party, installing a festive display in a restaurant or creating an activation for a brand, we always come back to one question:
What will people remember?
It might be a dramatic entrance, an incredible table setting, an oversized festive prop or a completely unexpected installation.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be the biggest or most expensive element either. Often, it’s the detail people weren’t expecting that makes the biggest impression.
Because great event design isn’t just about making something look good.
It’s about creating a feeling.
Christmas is coming…
With less than 100 days to go, now is the perfect time to start thinking about how you want your space, event or brand to look and feel this Christmas.
Restaurant/Hospitality Spaces
Retail Spaces
Brand Activations
Corporate Events
Private Parties
Whatever the brief, we’re already thinking about how we can make it feel a little more unexpected, a little more memorable and completely your own.
And if you haven’t started planning yet?
We’d probably start now.
