Market Halls is a multi-location destination, bringing together vibrant social spaces, diverse street food, drinks, and live entertainment across four unique London venues.

With venues in Canary Wharf, Oxford Street, Victoria and recently, Paddington, these venues are cleverly placed to cater to young professionals, commuters, and tourists.

Their fourth and most recent addition to their portfolio was the Paddington venue, based just seconds away from Paddington Station.

To celebrate and introduce this new hotspot, Market Halls brought our team of creatives on board to create something visually impressive for the opening.

Creative Brand Installation for Sustainable Street Food Venue Launch

Market Halls Paddington

A Brief of Impact, Style and Sustainability

The brief for the street-level entrance installation saw words such as statement, vibrant, fun and in alignment with the venue's styling and overall vibe- all of which was music to our creative ears! The brand's visuals already included bold, yet sophisticated colouring, so we couldn’t wait to get to work and incorporate these into our designs.

From the start of this project, we wanted to avoid overused, short-term features like balloon arches, opting instead for a bespoke, sustainable solution that would be reusable, weather-resilient, and appealing to Market Halls’ audience of commuters, young professionals, and tourists.

We focused on a design that was not only visually bold but also modular and mobile, with easy breakdown and reassembly to suit the venue’s operational needs. Everything had to be quickly movable after hours and secure during open times, all without compromising style or structural integrity.

The Moodboards

The Creations

To meet the logistical brief, our team created a custom modular system built on heavy-duty bases with lockable castor wheels. This allowed for smooth transitions between setup and storage while maintaining a cohesive, polished appearance.

Bespoke Built Structures

DIGITAL MOCK UP

Inspired by Market Halls' food market concept, we incorporated reclaimed wooden crates, which we hand-branded with their logo to resemble vintage produce stalls. These formed the core structure, stacked at irregular angles to create visual interest while still being securely fixed.

Materials and Bespoke Branding

Tropical Greenery and Disco Accessories

Inside every Market Halls venue, guests are greeted by lush tropical plants, and we knew the external design had to also reflect that. We used faux trailing greenery and bold paradise flowers to add texture and continuity to the installation. And, to top it off, a handful of disco balls were brought in to add sparkle and echo the venue’s vibrant energy!

The Results

A busy, memorable and social launch.

The final design transformed the Paddington facade into a shareable and memorable entrance, creating excitement across social media, especially during influencer events and the opening weekend. Visitors praised the installation for its vibrant look, creative detail, and how well it represented the venue’s brand personality.

From the very first day, the installation became a natural photo backdrop, with people stopping to grab pictures and tag the venue online, boosting visibility beyond just footfall. This installation didn't just serve as decoration, but it functioned as a strategic brand activation, introducing new customers to the venue who may have otherwise walked past and making a strong first impression that resonated both in person and online.

At Nikkita Palmer Designs, we bring years of experience in crafting installations for festivals, public spaces, and commercial venues. With every project, we combine visual impact with functional design, logistics, safety, and sustainability. This project was no exception; from modular engineering to eco-conscious material choices, we were proud to deliver an entrance that not only looked amazing but worked well in a real-world, high-traffic setting!

We loved working with Nikkita and the team Nikkita Palmer Designs on the unique entrance arch/experience for our Market Halls food hall in Paddington. She brought such creativity and care to the project – it turned out beautifully and really set the tone for the whole space. Nikkita and the team took our brief in their stride and created something that was a real talking point with guests. We couldn’t be happier with how it all came together and would highly recommend them to anyone.
