Transforming Market Halls Victoria: A London Rooftop Floral Escape for Summer

After teaming up with the Market Halls team earlier this year to launch their new Paddington spot, we were super excited to be invited back, this time to help give their Victoria venue a summer glow-up.

Out of their four venues, Victoria is lucky enough to have its own rooftop terrace, which we saw as the perfect opportunity to turn it into a floral-filled roof in the middle of London!

This is the kind of spot made for post-work drinks, weekend meet-ups or getaways in the sun, so we couldn’t wait to get started in creating the decor to match.

This summer-long rooftop installation was sponsored by a well-known and much-loved rosè brand, supporting and adding even more to those laid-back summer vibes.

The goal was to turn the terrace into an eye-catching, floral escape that would last the whole season. And while the brand was all about soft pinks and florals, they also wanted us to weave in some complementary colours, keeping the palette fresh and interesting.

The installation needed to fill the entire rooftop, for maximum impact and continuity throughout. We also ensured that all materials were both UV protected and flame retardant to handle the elements and meet safety standards.

With just a morning to complete the installation before opening, preparation was crucial. We premade all of the garlands ahead of time and prepared the ceiling installation in small sections to be raised efficiently by the team on site.

The Brief

The Moodboard

As promised, we transformed the rooftop bar with a full ceiling of florals! Think cascading blossoms, flowers paired with a canopy of glowing fairy lights and hanging rattan lanterns across the space to create a slightly warm, glowing and homely feel.

Inside, we layered an abundance of faux florals onto the existing green walls and throughout the pod seating areas, utilising and elevating the materials already in place.

Whilst outside, we dressed the backs of the wooden sofas with greenery garlands adorned with florals in a variety of colours. These details continued up poles and trailed across a network of ceiling festoons to continue to look.

The venue also had existing planters that we added colourful florals to, to tie everything together and make the space fully cohesive and colourful. And as a final touch, we created two bespoke floral wicker wreaths for the stairway doors as a bonus surprise for the client and an extra touch to the spaces!

The Solution

The rooftop transformation makes an impact the moment you see it, and even from street level!

As soon as you step out of Victoria Station, you can spot the colour and florals, drawing people up to the terrace. Once you're up there, it's a full 360° of summer vibes. Every angle is bursting with flowers and colour and creates the perfect backdrop for photos and social shares. It’s not just a great spot for a drink, it’s become a go-to summer destination in the city!
